As some of you may already know my name is Nicholas, and that means you already know too much. Some of you probably have my social security number, a copy of my passport, and a picture of me in a drag. I have a minimal presence on facebook and myspace, but that doesn’t matter. They can track you anywhere you go! Have you recently got a new debit/credit card? Almost all of them contain RFID chips, so they can track you by satellite from the hills around Altoona, PA to the slums of Buenos Aeries.
My job obviously has a lot to do with writing on the internet. Since you already know too much I can only say that the algorithm of the Amazon sales rank is as deceptive as any character Peter Lorre played. And, if that reference hasn’t given my age away my disdain of twitter might. I think HST said it best that the “truth is not told between the hours of 9 to 5”, and twitter is a 24 hour cycle of the 9 to 5 mentality.

Yeah I'm not too sure how many others are in this class. I like how your job keeps you on top of writing and the internet. I can tell just by reading this along with your posts on D2L that you seem creative with writing. I guess I could say I don't have that descriptive imagination most have! However, I'm hoping this class gives me a greater perspective on this.
ReplyDeleteI would say that you definitely know how to write, and have a very interesting take on the internet. Not saying it's wrong of course. We can all find whatever we wanted if we looked hard enough. Keep writing!
ReplyDeleteNicholas,
ReplyDeleteThank you for providing everyone with your knowledge on the internet & personal security! I think it's great but I do love my Facebook! I would feel bad for someone trying to steal my identity because for being a struggling college student, I don't have much to my name other than school books and some clothes! I really do love your sense of humor that you use when you write! It makes reading your posts an enjoyment!
I think what you wrote about was pretty interesting. You really seem to know a lot about the internet and ways people can use the internet and technology to steal identities. I really like that your not afraid to say what you know.
ReplyDeleteI got a good laugh out of your post but then again for the most part it's probably true. I'd be interested to learn what type of writing you do on the internet whether it is for work, fun, or even a hobby. I try to avoid posting personal information about myself on the internet as well; then again I do have a facebook. I guess the damage is already done. Very creative introduction!
